Einde van de film 'the break-up

Op de Engelstalige wikipedia kun je vaak het verloop van films lezen. Ik heb voor je de laatste 2 alinea's van de film gecopieerd, inclusief een commentaar van de regiseur. Ik hoop dat je Engels goed genoeg is )
"In the end, they agree to separate, both giving up the condo, taking their share of the money from its sale and moving on with their lives. After learning through a real-estate agent friend that a buyer has been found and that they have two weeks to move out, Brooke invites Gary to an Old 97's concert for which she had previously bought tickets for the two of them. Gary agrees to meet her there, but instead intentionally stands her up, and heads to his friend Johnny O's bar, making Brooke upset to the point of crying. In spite of a subsequent effort by Gary to reach out to Brooke by preparing a surprise dinner in the condo, their breakup has become inevitable.

Gary, realizing what he has lost, returns to his tour business while Brooke travels the world, eventually finding her way back to Chicago. At the end of the movie, they meet again by chance on the streets of Chicago. After some awkward but friendly catching up, they part ways but catch each other glancing over their shoulders and share a smile. Many fans of the movie believe that this glance conveyed that the relationship was not necessarily over. Director Peyton Reed discussed this issue in a interview on David Letterman. "This movie is titled the breakup" he said, "in no way shape or form were these two going to get back together". Reed put an end to this rumor but it still continues on in many conversations."

"Als Grobowski, in een allerlaatste poging van Meyers om de relatie te redden, niet komt opdagen op een concert van een van zijn favoriete bands - The Old 97's - betekent dit het definitieve einde van de relatie. Als Grobowski thuiskomt, treft hij een huilende Brooke aan. Dat in combinatie met een eerlijke beschouwing van zijn normaal altijd chauvinistisch reagerende vriend Johnny O (Jon Favreau) maakt dat hij inziet dat hij moet veranderen. Hij is namelijk uitermate prettig gezelschap, maar doet nooit iets waar hij zelf geen zin in heeft. Dat maakt Meyers reddingspogingen kansloos, zolang hij niet inziet dat twee mensen moeite in een relatie moeten steken.

De volgende dag zorgt Grobowski dat het huis is opgeruimd en maakt hij een diner klaar. Hij probeert Meyers duidelijk te maken dat hij inziet dat hij fout is geweest en geeft zich voor het eerst bloot. Brooke vertelt hem dat het te laat is. Het appartement wordt verkocht en ze gaan allebei hun eigen weg. Grobowski gaat verder met het ontwikkelen van zijn organisatie voor rondleidingen in de stad, Meyers gaat op reis in het buitenland.

In de laatste scène van de film is te zien hoe Brooke en Gary elkaar op een gegeven moment weer ontmoeten bij een winkel. Ze vinden het leuk elkaar na een tijd weer eens te zien en spreken af binnenkort samen iets te gaan doen."
